Sam Kidder, PT, DPT is from Lancaster, OH. She graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Ohio University in April 2021. Sam’s special interest is in runners, as she has been a lifelong competitive athlete. She ran in high school, in the NCAA Division I in college and post-collegiately for clubs on the roads. She understands what it is like to be sidelined from your sport/activity and will work hard to get you back full force. Sam enjoys treating many orthopedic conditions, but specializes in treating running related injuries and gait analysis. Outside of work, Sam enjoys exploring all Seattle and the surrounding area has to offer with her fiancé, trying new coffee shops/restaurants, and of course, finding scenic places to do a weekend long run!

Sam is a midwestern transplant to Seattle from Lancaster, OH. She attended the University of Iowa, Northern Arizona, and Ohio State University before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science. While in undergrad, Sam was competing for the varsity Track and Cross-Country teams, and was in a cycle of injuries. This further fueled her passion for the physical therapy field, and she wanted to give back to the profession that helped her so much through her career as as young athlete. She graduated from Ohio University in 2021 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Sam had the privilege to work in a biomechanics lab while in PT school, learning much about analysis, evaluation, and treatment of runners. While there, she utilized everything from 3D motion capture, force plate data, training history and clinical examination to optimize treatment outcomes. Her experience in the Ohio University Gait Lab (now Ohio Center for Running Performance) set her up for success in her practice as an independent clinician. Sam believes that no matter the injury or activity, patients should be treated from a holistic approach, considering unique goals and demands when creating a plan of care. She strongly believes in giving patients autonomy to rehabilitate injuries and prevent issues in the future.

Outside of work, Sam still trains seriously for competitive road races, keeping her busy during free time. She also enjoys learning more about the amazing things to do in and around Seattle (parks, waterfronts, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops). She welcomes any and all recommendations!
